Grand Hajj Symposium is a global Islamic platform that aims to discuss many issues that interest the Islamic world in many fields. It opens a door to the future through its analysis of the latest contemporary issues and challenges facing the Islamic world. The symposium provides the opportunity for the participants to present the most prominent solutions or initiatives for the advancement of Muslim societies in all fields, with a focus on the main theme and title of the annual symposium.

The Cultural Impact of the Symposium

The attachment of Muslims to Makkah since the dawn of Islam to the present time, has earned its valuable cultural influences, which contributed to the formation of the scientific and cultural movement in it. Many works dealt with the historical, cultural and social aspects of Makkah, as scholars and researchers in this era proliferated their works that studied the aspects related to its history, civilization and culture throughout the ages.

In this regard, Makkah was chosen as the capital of Islamic culture for 1426 AH. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah contributed to this occasion by allocating a number of symposiums since 1423 until 1426 AH. It also issued three volumes containing scientific research in various disciplines such as history, archeology, geography, economics, and urbanism.

This concern with the history, geography, literature, in addition to intellectual and urban heritage of Makkah is one of the duties entrusted to researchers, scholars and research centers. It is a way to keep its scientific heritage aligned with its distinguished civilizational construction and the efforts made by the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since the era of the founder King Abdul Aziz, may Allah bless his soul, and up to the reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may Allah protect him.
